Ο πιο δημοφιλείς προορισμός της χώρας το μαργαριτάρι της θάλασσας του Andaman παγκοσμίως γνωστό για τις αμμουδερής παραλίες του αλλά και την νυχτερινή ζωή αποτελεί και για τους Έλληνες ο κορυφαίος προορισμός της Ταϊλάνδης.
Το Πούκετ (ή Πουκέτ) με έκταση πάνω από 800 τετραγωνικά χιλιόμετρα είναι το μεγαλύτερο νησί της Ταϊλάνδης, βρίσκεται νότια της χώρας και βρέχεται από την θάλασσα του Andaman.
Εκτός από τις παραλίες το Πούκετ διαθέτει και πολλά μικρά νησάκια τριγύρω. Το μεγαλύτερο τμήμα του είναι ορεινό με υψηλότερη κορυφή το Mai Thao Sip Song που αγγίζει τα 529 μέτρα. Το Πουκέτ είναι ένα από τα πιο γνωστά τουριστικά νησιά του κόσμου, ο πιο δημοφιλής ταξιδιωτικός προορισμός της Ταϊλάνδης και η τουρκική μέκκα της εκπληκτικής ακτής της θάλασσας του Andaman.
Το Πουκέτ περιλαμβάνει περίπου 590 τετραγωνικά χιλιόμετρα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων 39 νησιών. Πάνω από 5,3 εκατομμύρια τουρίστες έρχονται στο Πουκέτ κάθε χρόνο για να γνωρίσουν τις όμορφες παραλίες του.

Το παρατηρητήριο προς τις παραλίες Κατά Νόι, Κατά Γιάϊ και Καρόν
Βρίσκεται μεταξύ των παραλιών Χαν (Han beach) και Κατά (Kata beach).
