The Philippines Side // Φιλιππίνες

Hi, thanks for watching this video and sharing it. Remember that TOUCHING WHALE SHARK is prohibed, whale shark is the biggest fish on earth but it’s still also a vulnerable specie so please be aware that feeding and touching it will change its behavior, if we want in the future to be able to see its population to increase to a normal and not in danger population keep in mind that the best way is to respect them.

Shark belong to the highest underwater predator, they regulate the number of fishes in oceans, they are the reflection of a healthy ecosystem we must fight for safeguard of shark. I apology for touching sharks in the last part of my video, touching them can damage their skin covering, making them vulnerable to infection, i didn’t know that and now Ι realise how important it is to stay not to close from them. All the footage is about discovering other country, people and environment by RESPECTING THEM.

KENYA | Trip of a lifetime | Κένυα

Kenya, a bunch of friends and 3 Land Rovers….the perfect mix to a great African adventure. We spent just over 2 weeks cruising through Kenya witnessing some amazing sights as we passed by Mount Kenya, the Masai Mara, Naivasha, Hells Gate, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and even the bustling capital Nairobi.

There was never a dull moment throughout the trip but my favorite moments were seeing the thousands of flamingos in Bogoria and camping out in the Masai Mara witnessing the river crossings during the great migration. This is just a small bit of what I filmed along the way on my little Lumix Gh5, there is a full length ‘visual vibes’ film coming soon of the entire trip including everyone footage on Ben’s channel, so this is just a teaser.

Sri Lanka | Σρι Λάνκα | Cinematic Travel Film

Traveling to Sri Lanka was one of my absolute favorite vacations. This relatively small island nation has the most stunning beaches like Unawatuna and Bentota, lush rolling hills lined with tea plants in Ella, and breathtaking mountains and rocky landforms like Sigiriya Rock in Sigiriya.

Our trip to Sri Lanka was nothing but incredible and I hope I captured the fascinating and welcoming culture and scenery of this country.

Traffic in Frenetic HCMC, Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is an amazing up and coming city.

This time lapse is a culmination of 10,000 RAW images and multiple shoots capturing some of the cities relentless energy and pace of change.

Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic. Ever since I first set foot in Ho Chi Minh City I have been captivated by the cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have experienced before which I wanted to capture and share. Thanks to everyone who helped with the film and thanks also to the numerous kind people who allowed me access to some amazing locations.

Uzbekistan 8K HDR 60p | Ουζμπεκιστάν

We were invited to Uzbekistan by the Ministry of Tourism to capture this diverse and beautiful country. Travel with us to the Samarkand mosques and mausoleums, the city of Tashkent and its uniquely beautiful underground Metro, The Samanid Mausoluem in Bukhara, the Juma Mosque, and the Itchan Kala in Khiva and more.

In Oman – 2014 | Ομάν

In March 2014, we had a fun 2-week-trip to yet quite undiscovered Oman, mostly to dive at the Daymaniyat Islands but we also got to see a fair share of deserts, camels, castles and enjoyed a mint-tea or two with the lovely locals. Enjoy a quick roller-coaster ride through oceans and sands!

This is my view of Nepal. An explosion of contrasts between the overwhelming chaos in the cities and the peaceful way of life in the mountains. So much love for Asia and for losing myself there, so Nepal could not be an exception. Now, I know I will be back again one day, to make another and longer trekking through these majestic peaks. Long live to Nepal, due to your geographical situation, I hope Mother Nature treats you well! Namaste!

Peru 8K HDR 60FPS (FUHD)

Peru 8K HDR explores the people and landscapes of Peru. This footage was captured in natively in 8K UHD (4320p) and 60fps resolution with the brand new Red Helium 8K Super35mm sensor.

Using the most up to date technology we created this video to deliver the most realistic and cinematic experience possible today, especially when viewed in HDR! To view at 8K 60P you’ll need to use Chrome at the moment.

Shot over 2 weeks traveling all over our the beautiful country of Peru: from Lima, to the amazon in Iquitos, Cusco, Ollantaytmbo and of course the stunning Machu Picchu, Puno where we visited Lake Titicaca and then traveling further into the lake to the inner island of Taquile.

GREENLAND – LAND OF ICE 4K | Γροιλανδία

Greenland – Since 8 years I’m traveling to this magical country. Today quiet and untouched places are becoming more and more rare.

On my first visit to Greenland, I was fascinated by the incredible power of nature that can be felt everywhere. But during the last years things have changed. The amount of icebergs is increasing savagely. Glaciers I’m visiting every year are retreating not meters but kilometers a year and the unending amount of ice seems to be endless. There is nothing more beautiful than an iceberg – everyone is unique and the light reflecting from its surface is magical. It’s sad how close beauty and decay can be seen in an iceberg.

This movie is is an appreciation to the ice – for me the most amazing aggregate state of water.

Behind the scenes. For this short film I travelled to Greenland with my drones several times. Always with the target of a certain region in a certain light situation. The shots from the calving glacier took me 4 days at the Eqi Glacier and over 70 battery charges for only 4 usable shots of a few seconds. It’s a very hard intention to film the very right moment on a glacier front of about 6km wide – especially close up.

But the hardest thing of flying in Greenland is the fact, that every 2-3 minutes the difference between the magnetic north and the geographic north (which are not the same place – especially so far north) causing a fatal p-gps flight error and the drone is flying away (also the camera’s horizon). But at the end every single flight was worth it – filming Icebergs from above is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done. Additionally I used the drone to scout the landing spot and look for polar bears. The best thing for bears and humans is to not meet each other on shore.

This is Shanghai

In 1980 Shanghai had no skyscrapers. It now has at least 4,000 — more than twice as many as New York. ‘This is Shanghai‘ explores the diversities and eccentricities of the metropolis that is Shanghai going beyond the famous skyline.

Photographer Rob Whitworth and urban identity expert JT Singh joined forces combining deep city exploration and pioneering filmmaking. ‘This is Shanghai’ is a roller coaster ride seamlessly weaving between the iconic, sparkling and mismatched buildings of the financial district travelling by boat and taxi touring Shanghai’s impressive infrastructure whilst glimpsing some of the lesser-known aspects of Shanghai life such as the lower stratum areas or the stunning graffiti of Moganshan road. And of course there is the opportunity to try some of the vast variety of street food and Shanghai’s most popular homegrown delicacy, the pan-fried pork dumplings, the shengjian bao.

Wherever you travel in Shanghai the cities skyline is always present. The looming silhouette of the almost constructed Shanghai Tower now dominates and perfectly encapsulates the new heights this city is yet to reach. Once completed, in 2014, it will be the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. To understand the city, the team carried out rigorous urban exploration. In the words of JT “we walked, walked and walked, the Jane Jacobs way”. Weibo, China’s main social media platform was used to ask local Shanghainese people to share ideas of different vantage points and what they thought were the over-riding characteristics of the city. Stealth and curiosity were required to find and gain access to rooftops and locations. It became addictive for the team discovering breath-taking vantage points of the city. There was always an adrenaline rush upon reaching the top of a different building to see the vast urban jungle of Shanghai.

Life in the Fast Lane: Hoi An – Ancient Town

I was privileged to call Hoi An my home for just over a year. As a visitor I will only ever understood a fraction of the activity that keeps the streets and waterways alive. I wanted to capture and share some of the sights that inspired me during my time in this historic town.

Hoi An has effectively been preserved in time from it’s days as one of South East Asia’s busiest trading ports. Each day the morning calm disappears in a frenzy of activity as everyday life starts over. Whether it’s conical hatted ladies conducting million-dong-deals or school girls in their perfect white ao dai uniforms commuting four-to-a-bicycle Hoi An is a hive of activity… That is, until about 9pm each day when the bustling streets empty and calm returns.

The Beauty of Guilin | Southern China (4K)

It was a long dream of mine to visit this unique area around Guilin, Yangshou and Xingping in Asia. To be honest, it was on the very top of my bucket list. Now I finally made it to this picturesque landscape in the south of China and I should not be disappointed.

The karst peaks of Southern China are one of my favorite landscapes. But also capturing the Kormorant fishing on Li river, as it used to be centuries ago, was a big highlight. It was an absolute pleasure to shoot with Mr. Huang Gao Hui, one of the famous fishermen in Xingping. I was able to document a tradition that is unfortunately dying out, like many others, due to the increase of tourism in our ever developing world. The fact is, this man now earns far more through tourism that he would have done catching and selling fish locally.

In Morocco – 2013 | Μαρόκο

Early 2013, we had a little ride with our Landrover once again. A shorter trip this time, we tried to discover most of Moroccos versatile landscapes in just 3 weeks, from the Coast to the forest regions of the Middle Atlas, from the hectic Medinas of Fés and Marrakech to the high mountain ranges of the High Atlas, and finally to the dunes of the Sahara Desert. LAKE TOBA | Exploring North Sumatra

Lake Toba, exploring a volcanic caldera in North Sumatra of Indonesia. This is where I got to briefly travel for 3 days and play with my camera and of course make a short cinematic travel film. The weather wasn’t on our side unfortunately but nonetheless it was still beautiful to explore Lake Toba, Samosir island and the Batak culture. The lake is surrounded by mountains and jungles with flowing waterfalls (we visited Sipiso – piso and Efrata).

We ended the trip by going further north from the lake to Bukit Lawang where we went deep into the jungles to search for Orang-utans (Orangutang), an amazing experience for sure! 3 Day’s was not nearly enough to cover all the beauty that is out there, I’ll have to return for a much longer visit and hopefully not get as unlucky with the weather. I hope you guy’s enjoyed a brief look at the trip, hopefully I get to upload more of these shorter trips in the near future.

ALIVE | Canada 4K

I travelled 5500 km in six weeks exploring the vast landscapes of British Columbia and Alberta in Canada, always looking to place my camera gear in the most beautiful sceneries possible.

With 54.000 single photos shot along the way I created ALIVE – a timelapse film which takes you on a vivid journey through wild forests, along the shores of crystal lakes and up the hills of massive mountains.

By making this project, I want to raise awareness of our wonderful planet earth which we have the privilege to be part of. That’s why we have to take responsibility for it – for the place where we are alive.

Norway | 4k Drone

Our travel from beautiful Norway and Sweden. We used GoPro Hero 4, DJI Phantom, FeiyuTech gimbal and Sony 6000. We went there in August 2017.

Ice Ballet – Ilulissat, Greenland – 4K

Τhis video was shot in Greenland last June. We had 24h of daylight which means midnight sun. There was strong magnetic interference while flying our drone and had our most challenging aerial shooting, so far.

Amazing Ted Regklis composed the music, took care of the sound design and we are entirely thankful for his help producing the video.

The trip was our prize for winning the best video in our category in DroneUp International Film Festival. With the help of Ilulissat Adventure, Ilulissat Guesthouse, Visit Greenland, Arctic Friend and PGI Greenland that week we spent in the arctic circle, was one to remember for years to come.

PATAGONIA 8K

Patagonia 8K explores the beautiful and rough landscapes of southern Chile and Argentina. Shot in 8K resolution on a medium format camera it’s aimed to deliver the most realistic experience.
Shot in 6 weeks, travelling over 7500km from Santiago to Punta Arenas we captured roughly 100.000 still frames that combine into this timelapse video.

CHILE | 8K60 | Los Lagos to Atacama

Explore the incredible diversity of Chile in Winter. From the northern end of Patagonia and Los Lagos region with its picture-perfect volcanoes, to the wild pacific coast, magical araucaria forests, towering peaks of the Andes all the way up to the Atacama Desert.
Shot in June and July 2019 traveling over 5000km from south to north.

Last May I decided together with Julius to hop on a plane to Indonesia. Little did we know we would meet up with so many amazing people who we spend the next two months with, creating, traveling, partying and exploring all the beautiful area’s such as Bali, Lombok, Nusa Penida, Java and The Komodo Islands. This was truly one of my favourite countries so far and I want to thank everyone I met along the way for making this unforgettable.
